I will admit I am a coffee snob. We just had a local coffee bean Roaster. I ordered on line and they delivered to my housed the bag was still warm. I nice manual grind put the grounds in the filter, hot water pour over (in a circular motion, read the instructions) and the strong or light cup of coffee you do not need to add anything. You can taste the coffee and quality coffee, fresh ground beans and I nice slow pour owe and the filter allows for all of the natural flavors that you do not normally taste. Sooooooo good. Just a good solid product, so easy to clean, the holes in the filer are small enough so you aren’t drinking grounds, but big enough to let all the flavor fall in your cup. Be it 10oz or a 24 ox travel mug. Fits every different cup I have and well:Tl:Dr — Great product with outstanding results.

I am the only person who drinks coffee in my household so in order to save space, I ditched my drip coffee maker and bought this. It is simple to use and it’s quick. (I heat my water with my electric kettle so I have the hot water ready quickly too!) Be sure to have evenly ground coffee, if you have too fine powder mixed in with your grounds, you’ll end up with sludge at the bottom of your cup, but if your coffee is appropriately ground you won’t have this problem. Cleanup is a breeze, I just scoop out the grounds with a paper towel and wash with hot water. No more buying filters!

I’ve used a Keurig for the last 10 years. They get dirty inside and you really can clean them. I tried a few different French presses, they weren’t easy or very good at producing a good cup of coffee. I will say two things, I only drink one cup a day (of if you have a household of coffee drinkers, probably not for you) and I drink my coffee black (so I want the purity of the coffee bean taste). This has been by far the best option I’ve tried. I have zero to little hope for it because it was only $14! But it’s amazing. The entire area that drains the coffee is stainless steel, so you don’t have to worry about plastic heating up and getting microdosed with it. It’s sturdy and so easy to clean. I save coffee grounds for my garden, so it being sturdy makes tapping out the grounds a breeze. I would recommend this product.

The media could not be loaded. Yikes holes are big. The finer particles of ground coffee do get thru and leave sediment in your cup. Left a ton of sediment with my fine grind coffee. There are many levels of filtration. Advertisement says holes are 0.2mm Mesh. 0.2mm is 200 microns. Filter is NOT mesh but perforated stainless steel sheet.Actual openings per inch is 52. (0.2mm is 0.0078 inches which is roughly the size I measured.) Translating the hole size to US Mesh size it is approximately 70 Mesh. 70 holes per inch with the diameter of the woven wire between each hole. The 70 Mesh standard has 0.0083 diameter holes, slightly larger than the ones in this filter. However, since it is perforated sheet instead of woven wire the area between the holes is much larger and there is less open area for flow. 52 x52 (2704) holes are in a square inch. Calculated open area is 13%. With holes this large, this is a depth filter and works by building a layer of coffee grounds in the bottom of the filter to act as a sediment trap. It is quite important to pour slowly, towards the center of the ground pile and to NOT wash the sidewalls of the filter or stir the pour while it is filtering. Washing the sides will result in much more sediment getting through. Optimum results are obtained by wetting grounds then slowly pouring water around the center of the pile while keeping a constant minimal water level in the cone. If you fill cone to the top, in the first 20 seconds after pouring most of the water goes thru and doesn’t have time for proper extraction. It takes 3 or 4 minutes to get 95% of the water filtered when poured slowly.Holes are smaller than the smallest straight pin I have. The tip goes thru a hole and protrudes on the opposite side. Needle threader wire goes thru the holes. Straight pin diameter is 0.015 inches. Wire diameter is 0.005 inches. Holes size is between the two. I would estimate 8 to 10 thousandths diameter, approximately the advertised hole size.A sizable portion of Gevalia ground coffee goes thru the filter. With a paper filter none gets thru. 70 mesh isn’t very small. A standard flour sifter is 40 mesh and bakers use 60 mesh for finer baked goods. A paper filter is 10 times finer than this filter. People use 200 to 400 mesh for filtering soy milk, juice, and coffee. Wikipedia states that “Typically coffee filters are made up of filaments approximately 20 micrometers wide, which allow particles through that are less than approximately 10 to 15 micrometers.” 20 Microns is 0.02 mm, 10 times smaller than this filter. I found sites from professional brewers who use 70 to 100-micron mesh for brewing large batches of coffee and even then some filter a second time to remove sediment. The Javapresse fine mesh filter has 123,000 holes per square inch. It boils down to the size of your grind and the amount of sediment and oils you want to let thru for flavor. After I made the coffee with the pour-over filter I poured the coffee thru a paper coffee filter to see how much sediment was left. I rinsed any remaining residue in the cup and poured it thru the paper filter also. You can the photo of the paper filter from a single cup.For me, this device is both too coarse and too slow for making coffee.

Great! There’s a slight trough at the cone’s base that catches water if my pouring gets too raucous, so no leaking onto the counter. It filters at about the same rate as a brown paper filter and tastes the same. Cleans up about how you’d expect and the little brush that comes with it works fine. Not wasting paper was the motive, so this is good.

I wasn’t sure about using a pour over but when we went on vacation our VRBO had one. We brought our own coffe with us to use in the coffee maker, however the choices were a pod machine and the pour over. We used the pour over with our coffee and were pleased with the ease of use, the quick time to brew and the tast of the coffee. So I went to Amazon and bought one for home use. The coffee is super hot using water from the boiling electric tea pot. We put our Bunn coffee maker away and are not just using the pour over coffee maker.

I wanted a pour over that did not require paper filters and this was perfect. What I did not expect was how this filter seems to remove the acidity of the coffee for a wonderfully smooth cup!! Affordable and handy!!!

We use this filter every day for multiple pour overs. We rinse it out daily and give it a light cleaning. At least once a week give it a through cleaning to remove built up residue. It‘s been a great product for us and has held up well. Very happy with our purchase.

I got it so I would no longer have to buy coffee filters, it works great. one les thing to buy and one less thing to throw away.

A good product is one I choose to use frequently. This works well and is easy to wash.I removed the rubber ring around the base. It makes cleaning easier and I didn’t see any benefits to having the ring.
