I was looking to replace my “Mr. Coffee” unit. After looking in several stores, I went on line to Amazon and was able to purchase the exact coffee pot. We are now very happy coffee drinkers. Old one was still working after many years but the hot plate of the unit was burned. We are VERY HAPPY with this unit and to find AMAZON had the exact item I wanted.

My $100-plus, digital-everything coffee makers never lasted very long so I decided to try simplicity and lower cost. Even though it doesn’t turn itself on and off, can’t set the temperature, doesn’t issue cleaning messages, doesn’t have a 4-cup setting, no warning beeps, etc. the coffee tastes just as good. And if it ever fails it would be inexpensive to replace. I particularly like the large hole where you pour in the water because it’s almost impossible to spill while filling it ujp.

We’ve had a few Mr. Coffees with more features. The part that usually ‘goes’ is the heating element for the water or for the carafe. With the increases in prices we opted for this very basic model which works great. It does not have a clock and you cannot set it to start up at a given time. The on/off switch starts the brewing and does NOT ping to let you know that the brewing is complete, but it’s pretty obvious when that cycle is done. The main downside is that the carafe heater does NOT go off automatically so remember to manually turn the machine off to avoid a kitchen disaster.
Amazon Customer –
I fold my generic filters by folding into a quarter size. Take off about 1/4″ off and then the filter fits correctly. My first 2 pots had coffee grinds in the pot. I bet Mr. Coffee sells filters to fit, but I prefer cheap no name filters. I gave it an average rating for flavor because it is not a magic coffee pot — coffee is coffee! The type of coffee you buy makes the flavor, not the pot. The pot arrived quickly and works as it is supposed to.

We bought another Mr. Coffee of the same model we had before because this thing is a work horse that does not quit. The last one made a pot of coffee daily for 7 years straight! We expect the same from this replacement. So far, it has been great. Makes a pot of coffee quickly and allows you to pour a cup while brewing without spilling coffee everywhere. It is important to keep it clean and dry (especially the heating plate) when not in use — they will rust out after 7 years of continuous use.

This doesn’t auto-shut off so that was a quality we were looking for in a coffee maker. The pot it’s self is easy to pour from (I’ve had some in the past that just made a mess no matter how you poured.) The brew time and flavor are accurate. Highly recommend.

The only bad thing I can think of is no clock or timer I put it on an outlet timer it actually is better cause the ones with built in timers turn off automatically

It’s great to have the option to purchase a nice, simple coffee maker. Nothing digital to go berserk when you least expect it. The coffee tastes fine, the brewing is quick. Fingers crossed in the hope that it will last awhile.
