Great esspresso, without a giant expensive machine. Works good. Fast, easy to use and clean, way cheaper than competitors.

This works very well. I have no issues with it. The red looks very nice too. I find that on an electric stove the notch below medium works well and doesn’t percolate too quickly. At some point I am going to invest in a larger 9-10 cup model but for the price this one was irresistible.

I had a small pot like this several years ago and gave it away because I didn’t think, wrongly, it would work on my new stove. I don’t remember the coffee tasting so yummy. But now I am loving the coffee that I get from this pot. It tastes sooo good. I’ve put my Aeropress away in the drawer. Brewing over medium heat tastes better but takes more patience. I thin the coffee with hot water, almost 50-50, and add heavy cream, no sweetener. Yum.The rim of the basket was rough, felt sharp, and I worried I might cut myself, so I smoothed it with a sharpening stone. I think a sharpening steel or a glass nail file would work as well. The other basket problem is how to get the thing out of the base after brewing. My solution is to turn the base over and give it a shake. I do this over a large yogurt tub, about the size of the old, now reviled, margarine tubs, to contain the mess. Then grab the basket by the stem and shake the grounds out.Mokka pots have a rough surface inside the bottom unit. At least all the ones I’ve seen are made that way. I think this is not a flaw but a design feature. It allows the water to boil more quickly. I remember using boiling beads in a flask in high school chemistry class. Bottom line — Moka pots are great and this one works fine with maybe a wee bit of smoothing the basket. 3 cup size is good for one person.

Bought this expressly to make a mug of coffee for those times when my vat of cold brew has run out and another one isn’t ready yet. It is working fine for that.I’ve had some fun experimenting with it. As others have said, you have to work out the variables of time, temp and amount of coffee. In case anybody has the same GE flat-burner stove, mine worked out to 3 heaping teaspoons of espresso, burner at setting 6, 10 minutes. To avoid mishap, screw on the top part tight or the middle will leak when the water boils, take it off the burner as soon as steam starts coming out or the coffee will burn, and wait a minute or 2 to pour after you take it off the burner or the coffee will spew out.All of these Moka-like pots seems to be about the same. This one has a sturdy handle and has gone through a few washings just fine. Doesn’t seem to be any reason to pay more for a brand name.

i just received my IMUSA 3 cup espresso maker. I couldn’t wait to use it this morning. I woke up early just in case there was a learning curve, but not necessary. Filled up to the air hole with water, scooped in my Bustelo Cuban Espresso, screwed up and placed on the stove. Perfection! I also bought the IMUSA espresso cup and saucer set and the 3 cup maker makes 2 espresso cups (with one packet of Splenda in each). Only complaint I have is that Amazon seems to be in low supply of these as it took me nearly 5 weeks to receive upon ordering…but so worth the wait. I didn’t want to spend more money on a larger maker only to end up wasting valuable espresso since I knew I’d be the only one drinking it. No regrets, great buy if you have time to wait. Definitely the best price around as well.
