MEET PRISMO — SUPERPOWERS FOR YOUR AEROPRESS COFFEE MAKER
Prismo is a pressure actuated valve designed to take your AeroPress Coffee Maker to the next level. This attachment allows for a buildup of pressure to brew espresso-style coffee and creates a no-drip seal for a full-immersion brew. Prismo’s espresso-style shots have a full and syrupy body with a thick, smooth mouthfeel. Compared to other methods for hand-pressing espresso, Prismo’s “crema” is longer lasting, more robust, and can be used for latte art.
Pressure Actuated Valve
The secret weapon for “pulling a shot” with more pressure. The special valve stays sealed until you press down and creates more pressure in order to brew coffee to a consistency closer to espresso than the AeroPress Coffee Maker on its own. Additionally, the valve’s small aperture fits directly over an espresso shot glass.
No Drip Seal
Ditch the flip. Brew full-immersion coffee without inverting your AeroPress Coffee Maker. Or, if cold brew is more your style, leave your AeroPress in the fridge overnight upright without a single leak.
Reusable Metal Filter
Cut out the middleman. Prismo’s reusable 70 micron etched fine metal filter makes brewing speedy and efficient while eliminating the need for your AeroPress Coffee Maker’s paper filters.

Easy set up and easy to clean.

Was sceptical but, taking reviews with a little bit of reserve and the expense of this item… thought to give it a try as a late birthday treat for myself.Found it easy to affix, not really any different from the filter attachment that comes with the aeropress itself. Also found no discernible difference in pressing down the plunger after stirring the grounds in the tube.Instructions are given with the attachment & easy to follow. Also easy enough to clean/rinse with hot water etc.Felt that there was more coffee flavour extracted using this filter attachment, also will save on purchasing paper filters (in the long run!).Is it worth getting, personally yes if you can.

I don’t have a normal kettle, I have a hot water dispenser where you press the button and hot water comes out immediately, but it’s not a fast flow, takes 30 — 60 seconds to fill up a mugIf you use the AeroPress with the normal filters and end cap, the water runs straight out, it never fills the AeroPress more than a couple of centimetres and you don’t get an extract, and it’s too high sat on top of a mug to fit under where the water comes outThis attachment is brilliant as 1. I don’t have to sit it on top of a mug while filling so it easily sits under the HWD. 2. the water doesn’t come out until you plunge down so it actually gets time to extractIt’s a bit pricey, but for the quality of coffee I am now drinking I’m quite happy with it!!

Totally improves the texture of the Coffee and produces coffee at near Espresso quality.

If you’re already using a metal filter plate, I don’t think the valve mechanism (etc) is going to change the coffee you’re making. But that’s totally fine, because the convenience improvement alone makes it totally worth it.In particular it means you no longer have to do the inverted method. So say you’re using this at work: you can just put the AP with Prismo attached on the kitchen counter with nothing under it, do your pour/stir routine, then put the whole thing on top of a mug and go back to your desk while it brews. This is way better than the original cap, and having to be a little bit more careful not to make a mess.Cleanup is also slightly better than with metal plates, as the filter part is reliably retained in the cap when you twist it off. So you don’t have to carefully peel it off the puck and take care not to accidentally drop it in the bin. Just unscrew, click the puck out, rinse both parts under a running tap, done. The only slight downside, and it’s only very slight, is it reduces the volume of liquid you can push out before your mug overflows. This is because Prismo protrudes from the bottom of the AP slightly more than the original cap. But personally I brew and then dilute anyway, and have cups just-big-enough to still handle this. So it’s a non-issue once you know it’s a thing and adjust accordingly if needed. If you’re coming from using paper filters, it’ll be different. Maybe you can use paper filters as well, and still benefit from the convenience boost. But I’m not the one to ask about that, I like my coffee a bit gritty and with all the oils left in :)Colleagues who’ve bought it too have said similar things — so (IMO/YMMV) no more thinking, just buy it, I honestly don’t think you’ll regret getting this.

I bought this item to allow me to stop using the inverted (upside-down) method when making Aeropress coffee, since the valve on the Prisma prevents coffee going through before the press is pushed down. While it does this perfectly, there is still some sediment at the bottom of the cup, so I use a regular Aeropress paper filter with this device. The combination of the two is perfect, fully-brewed/bloomed coffee that’s super-smooth and contains no nasty stuff at the end, in fact the quality is more consistent now.

These are brilliant they mean you don’t have to do an invert press and filter is reusable (double bonus) it makes better brewing as none gets dripped in the cup before its finished resulting in a decent flavor coffee

I haven’t noticed a huge difference in my coffee flavour with the Prisma, but I really like that I can put my coffee and water in without it dripping through. I also don’t need to use an additional filter which saves on waste and cleaning.Would definitely recommend!

This works great with the Aeropress, and means if you are out and about there’s no need to carry paper filters that need to be kept dry.The metal filter attaches nicely, and the pressure release nipple on the bottom works well. This means that you don’t get drips before plunging like you would with paper filters.Happy with this, nice solid build, dishwasher safe, and you can buy spare metal filters if needed. Quality product that provides a little improvement in coffee taste, but for me really solid benefits in usability.
