It brews coffee at the correct temperature and makes a big difference. Allows different brew strengths and amounts.

Repurchased Jan 2021 because previous (3 year old) unit began to leak clear water on counter. Have since learned that this is a common issue, due to aging of hoses in the base, and I probably could have repaired it myself if I was willing to take the time to do it. Happy with this replacement unit; just as with previous one (see below) it makes good coffee and has features we like — Hoping this new unit has better hoses/will last longer.Original review Jan 2018 purchase:Pleased with this coffee maker. It replaces one of the insulated carafe units we had for many years. The insulated pot was difficult to clean and eventually started making the coffee taste ‘burned’. The insulated carafe also only held 10 (6 oz) cups, while this one — being a glass pot — holds 14 (6 oz) cups, which we prefer because we go through alot of coffee on weekday mornings. Lid is easy to remove and opening is wide enough that you can get your hands inside to clean it. Coffee is hot when it comes out and the warming plate keeps it that way. Warming plate has auto shutoff after two hours. Well designed spout on pot minimizes spilling and makes it easy to pour out the last cup of coffee. Easy to access the filter basket as the top is hinged in back to open completely and the basket comes out for easy filling / cleaning. We use the sprayer attachment on the kitchen sink to fill it — fill indicator is built into the right side and is easy to read. The unit I purchased came with a gold-tone reuseable filter, but I find that its too small to hold enough coffee for a full 14-cup pot — so just using the standard paper filters for now. Timer function works well and is easy to set. Makes a full 14 cup pot in under 15 minutes. Turned off the Beeper («done» signal) at set-up — some reviewers have complained that these alerts are too loud, but with it OFF its not a concern. Not sure how the «bold» and the «1-4 cups» buttons actually operate (faster or slower brewing time?), but the bold selection does make the coffee stronger; however, we tried the 1-4 cup button yesterday and honestly can’t tell what’s different with it selected. Consumer reports rated it reasonably well for manufacturer reliability/quality. Overall, very happy with this unit.

This is a terrific coffee maker. The brew is consistent, the temperature adjustment seems to work exactly as designed (in fairness, I’ve only used M (medium) setting, but compared with other drip-brew coffee makers, this seems perfect for my tastes). The water filter option is a nice plus, and the «bold» brew setting seems to slow the brewing a bit to give steamy water more time to absorb coffee favor while brewing. I prefer the cone-style filters (which this uses), and cleanup is simple and easy. This is also the first coffee carafe I’ve ever used that allow you to pour quickly without dribbling down the side of the carafe or coffee mug. On top of all that, it looks sharp on the counter, with black and stainless accents. Two very minor complaints (not enough to remove a star):1.) When filling the water reservoir and situating the coffee filter in place, it’s easy to bump the settings buttons around the clock display and change settings. In my case, that usually results in toggling the audio beep (which indicates brewing is complete). I’ve done that a couple of times. The coffee maker has very simple-to-use settings buttons—you don’t have to have an advanced degree or navigate some proprietary menu system or sequence of settings. If VCRs had been as simple to set as this machine, fewer people would have had to tolerate «00:00:00» flashing endlessly while they watched movies. It’s really easy to set everything on this machine…but (because of that), it’s easy to accidentally change settings. Very minor issue.2.) After brewing (even after the machine has cooled) it’s almost impossible to life the reservoir lid without some water dribbling down the back side of the coffee maker and onto the countertop. Condensation leaves quite a bit of water on the inside of the reservoir lid, and that water flows downward as you open the lid. I’ve gotten used to holding a bar mop (towel) on the back of the machine while opening. Again, it’s a slight annoyance but not enough to get worked up about. In a worst case, it’s clean water and would probably evaporate quickly enough. I just like having the machine clean and dry after a cycle.

I put up with a Braun coffee maker that never made my coffee hot enough. I had to microwave every cup I poured. I was thinking of replacing it with a Cuisinart (I had always had that brand before) when the Braun did me a favor and up & died. This is the Cuisinart I bought and couldn’t be happier! No more heating every cup in the microwave!!

Simple, easy to use and program. Makes a great cup of coffee, works flawlessly so far. My friend has a Keurig. Yes its ( Kg) a little faster but does not make a better cup of coffee. To be honest this Cuisinart isn’t that slow. Its not instant but is fairly quick. Its hotter and tastier. Very glad I read the reviews from the coffee snob website and went in this direction instead of the Keurig. I have read some of the negatives and others reviews and to be honest there isn’t a coffee maker on the planet that can prevent user error…lol.1. I use the filters instead of the gold basket filter. Instructions say to use one or the other not both. Paper filter works great and no I don’t taste it in the coffee.2. The lid works fine. It only seats one way and is fairly easy to put on the carafe. Use disabilities aside there is no issue securing the lid properly. I am not a genius , let me make this clear. I never completed one layer of a rubic cube let alone the entire cube and I have no issue securing the lid properly.3. Adding the water. Had a long funny rant about this but erased it all…lol user error is what I will say. Anyone familiar with a coffeee maker knows the filter and subsequent water adding area are the same for all coffee makers unless you are buying a commercial machine and they are usually plumbed … But that being said…. You just have to be smarter than the water you are adding and there isnt an issue.

Finally back in stock! We have the 12 cup model and it really is a simple and reliable way to make coffee. Everything works perfectly — great pot of coffee every time. Just flawless. But somehow in the morning my 2nd cup is short a few sips of coffee. We have really bit mugs. We just wanted a bit more coffee. Not a whole pot — just a couple more cups. Our new place has a copper sink and I thought a copper coffee pot would be the perfect touch. I hummed and hawed and finally decided to buy this upgrade. Just as I hit the «buy» button this thing goes out of stock. Worse, at the time it was an Amazon exclusive. Nobody had one — and I really did look hard. I kept my eye on this model on and off over the past 6 months and suddenly it’s back. I hit the ORDER button and it arrived yesterday. What a beauty! It’s not a cheap shiny bright copper but more of a muted pink/brown shade of copper. It’s exactly what I wanted. I should be mad because the identical model in silver, red, black or white can be had for about $40 less at most big box stores. But after searching high and low for this color I’m just glad it’s finally available.

This is by far the best coffee maker I’ve ever owned and believe me, I’ve owned several. I love the timer options for how long the plate stays hot and the beeper that signals when it goes off. I love the 3 temperature settings although medium (which must be the default), is way hotter than any other brand I’ve owned. I think it’s as hot as the Keurig. I read other reviews about the carafe lid being hard to get off but all I have to do is use my thumb to push up at the back while holding the handle and it pops right off. Plus, the lid has not leaked one time which is another pet peeve of other brands. I also don’t have a problem filling it because I don’t use the carafe. I use a plastic cup which works very well for me and it’s very easy to use the see thru water gage to get in just the right amount. Last and by far the most important is how the coffee tastes! I am blown away by how much better the same brand tastes from this machine compared to my previous one. I use it daily and the only thing I’m not sure of is how long it will last. I’ve had it about 2 months but even if it quit tomorrow, I’d buy another one. That’s how much I like it.

new update — The hot plug and cord problem I was having was not the coffee maker’s fault : I replaced the electrical outlet and now the cord and plug are only slightly warm to touch (after brewing coffee). The DCC-3200 coffee maker still uses a lot of power (I measured 1500 Watts), but it makes a great cup of coffee. And I guess it takes a lot of energy to brew a quick cup of coffee with super-hot water…I believe the super-hot water is a trick of well-brewed java. Sorry for the confusion below. (end of new update.)I still like this coffee maker (Cuisinart DCC3200) but I’m disappointed in the power usage. I notice that the plug getting hot (and cord the part close to the plug)…not too hot to touch, but hotter than warm, and enough to be concerned. I measured the power during percolation and it’s 1500 Watts. This is a lot higher than typical drip coffee makers (750 to 1000 Watts). Also you will notice that it doesn’t get an Energy Star rating from the US EPA.Original review :Makes better coffee than the cheaper ones. I think the difference is the hotter water and the shower drip nozzle that spreads the hot water all over the coffee. Well made. The chrome finish is nice.
