I bought the SS-16 to replace a 5 year old SS-15 model. This unit has improved upon some of the negative features of the older model. Here are the improvements:1. Older model would splash all over counter when brewing single serve unless you used a tall travel mug. This model has a flip shelf so that you can use shorter mugs without making a mess or having to hold the cup close to the dispenser while brewing.2. This model has the single serve and regular brew sides reversed. This allows you to pour water into the regular brew side much easier since the larger reservoir opening is on the right side of the machine. On the older model, the larger opening was just to the left of the single serve side making it difficult to pour the water in the reservoir.3. The needle which punctures the k-cup is cone shaped on the newer model with the water opening toward the back of the needle. On the older model, the needle was a small metal cylinder with a hole in the center. The older model would sometimes split the k-cup and cause the grinds to back up in the unit and make a mess. Hopefully, the design of the newer model has fixed that problem. To date, I have not had a k-cup explosion. This remains to be seen.Overall, I like the fact that I can brew a regular pot of coffee or make a single cup using one machine. I like the fact that I am not forced to make a specific number of cups of coffee on the regular brew side. Many combo machines retain water in an internal reservoir and force the user to make a specified number of cups. This machine does not retain any water after brewing. On the regular serve side, you brew as much coffee as there is water in the reservoir. On the single serve side, the water reservoir is removable, so it can be emptied when not in use. Most Keurig machines retain water in an internal reservoir which seems like it can be a breeding ground for mold due to the stagnant water in the machine.I make a full pot of coffee almost every day, and if not, I’ll have a few k-cups instead. I hope I can get 5 years of daily usage out of this machine.

Funny caption but true. Think about it. All the reviews are either a love or a hate. Just like trying a new brand of underwear. On to the review, I got this for my dads Christmas in 2018 to replace the forever trusty running Mr. Coffee 12 cup. It was time y’all, it was leaking, wasn’t getting hot as it should and just looked nasty. Now this is after a good 20 years of service on a daily!I will start with the 12 cup part first. I feel pretty sure the engineer behind this was left handed. If you take notice the 12 cup is on the left, so in order to fill the reservoir in the back you can either pour from a distance on the right side (and make a hot mess) or take the easy way and use the left edge to rest the spout and pour. Gives us righty’s a good use for our left hand. The reservoir for the 12 cup has a limited opening to put water in but we have adjusted. Bee cool if you could chose which side you would like what to be on.The coffee grain filter is pretty cool! Some people are complaining about this making a mess for them? I could see this being a problem if you don’t put a filter in it and mistaking the little tray that holds the filters as a grain holder OR not pushing the tray down till it snaps (you will feel it and know)… Bruh. We use the reusable filter with ours with no problems and yes tinnnnny grains of coffee get through that filter but just makes it bolder. Get your paper filters if you don’t want that.K-Cup: always wanted one but why buy two whole devices to cluster up the counter? This is not our go to but nice feature. We have not used it as much but we have used it to make hot coco with the K-Cup pericing accessory in the machine while dispensing just hot water. With the hot coco powder in the cup and the force of the water coming out of the KCup it would make a mess because of splashing. Now with the other accessory that would be used for spices and what not was a more steady stream and less of a splash. I can not vouch for those who have had issues with the KCup grounds coming out of the cup, BUT do make sure the little white arrows line up on the one accessory in the back when installing. The water reservoir for the KCup is cool because it is removable. Some say this leaks and I could see this as the grommet gets older or faulty by factory. But I have personally not had an issue with water leaking. I always just empty it when I know people will not be using it.The controls are interesting. Took a little fiddling to get everything straight but once you get everything like you like it you are good till it’s unplugged, power goes out, mom, lol got to blame something. There is a separate on/off switch that is good to use every day when not in use. Only catch is to the programmed brew is that the night before after you set everything up, press the on button, press bold (if you chose), press brew. Three buttons to get this thing to brew in the morning like you want it. :/ Mr. Coffee, flip the switch left and done haha. So, I’m getting to like the three button start set up. Almost like starting a spaceship haha. The on/off is a good feature to make sure it is off before you leave the house. The reservoir has a what!?!?! A filter. This thing gets a lot of hate… “It’s not even useful because the water don’t flow past it?” Umm it was a nice thought. What other coffee pot has a water filter option? Sorry, not a coffee pot expert but been using the Mr. Coffee without a water filter for years and never died from it. People complain about everything everything these days. Got to be optimistic my friends. Good thought for the company. Dang if you do, dang if you don’t. Guess how much flow the KCup reservoir is getting when it is sitting full for about a week without use? Wouldn’t really mater where the filter would be at that point would it? So the filters are in both reservoirs. If it’s that big a deal, just take it out? Wasn’t that hard to solve… While we talking about it, if this filter was in the flow of the pump where most think it should be, the company would get complaints of no flow after a few years of service because most would not check/replace the filter in the pump, cause who wants to be charged for another device they must purchase just specific for this brand?$$$? Y’all have got to think of all angles at this when you complain. This this has a end chime for the 12 cup which consists of 5 beeps you cannot turn off (the company should make this a option). A little obnoxious the first time I heard it. Now I can sleep right through it no problem.Mom does not like it because it’s big, but look at it this way, have two separate gadgets would be worse.Overall my dad and I love this device (come to find out) he was looking at this exact one around summer time and I surprisingly got it for his Christmas. The poor Mr. Coffee 12 cup pitcher had its last round in the dishwasher on Christmas Eve resulting in a cracked pitcher. Timing could have not been more perfect.Totally recommend. I’m sure if you don’t like it you have some time to return so no loss to you except a little time. You can always go to Walmart and get you a $20 12cup and tape you Kureg to the right side of it, vice versa 😉

I was an early adopter if a traditional drip machine + kcup brewer about 4 years ago and could find few options. That one died and I found this one. Loved previous Cuisinart brewers for their functionality and final product. I am blown away by this new multi brewer.1. Super easy unboxing and easy quick guide set up.2. Love having the filters to remove any tastes from the water, preventing me from using other than tap water3. Brewing is relatively quiet but the alert beeps may be just a bit too loud but could be used as a wake up alarm ?4. Holy crap! The single serve side is the fastest I have seen. Hot, perfect temp coffee and with the strength selectors made for easy brewing of all my favorite types of KCups.5. Love the warmer! This works well with an older stainless carafe if mine but I would love to get a carafe of the same metal color this brewer was in … praying to the Cuisinart Gods ?Excellent device and I’m looking forward to using it for a long time.

We’re life long (60+ years) coffee fiends and we’ve had countless coffee makers. Considering all the features and options this is the best coffee maker we’ve ever had. We’ve had the SS-20P1 (stainless thermal carafe) for over a year now.Have not encountered any of the issues posted by other reviewers. We love this thing and highly recommend it. Great space saver and brews great coffee both in the K-Cup and the drip. We do like our brew strong and this delivers, consistently. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for many hours, which we stretch by preheating the carafe. We fill the carafe with hot water and let it sit while we put the coffee in the basket and fill the tank with water. Once the coffee maker is ready, we dump the hot water from the carafe and brew the coffee. This way the coffee remains steaming hot after 3-4 hours.Note: If the Clean LED fails to reset after you’ve cycled through a tank full of diluted vinegar: cycle through a full tank of water, fill the tank again with water, place a large glass in the K-Cup brewer and press the 6oz. and 8oz. button simultaneously. This will finish out the cleaning cycle and reset the LED.PS — Don’t forget to replace the little tank filters.

I received this in Nov 2022 and it began leaking from the kcup carafe just weeks after the return window. When I fill the cup carafe, the water flows into the machine and out the bottom drain so it folds my counter every time. How can I get it replaced. It’s to expensive to throw away.

I replaced our dual serve Keurig with this Cuisinart and are very pleased with the performance of the new coffee maker. Some nice features that are an improvement from the Keurig are a selectable carafe warming setting, programmable timed shutoff, independent reservoirs for single serve and carafe with replaceable water filters for each. The machine comes with screen mesh reusable filters for single serve and for the carafe. I actually liked the coffee maker so much, I bought the Cuisinart coffee grinder seen in the photo so that the coffee is fresh ground daily. I even went so far as to purchase a 30 oz Yeti Travel Mug so I can drink my own coffee at work verses using the single serve cups. Very happy with the purchase.

It stop working on the K-cup so I called and are sending a new one, but I had to cut the power cord and take a picture of it cut off before they would send a new one, so now I don’t have any coffee pot. Not very happy will take 7 to 9 days,

We have had a cuisinart coffee maker for years. We wanted to eliminate our keurag machine to free up some counter space. This machine is not only beautiful, but it’s an amazing coffee maker whether it’s by the pot or by the pod. We love it and are very glad we purchased it. You should get one.

  9. Amazon Customer

This was the perfect option for my condo. No glass carafe to break. Enjoy a pot of coffee in the morning and a single in the afternoon.

  10. Patty T.

We love this. The only downfall is that you have to push down k cups or you will have a mess.
