Tested and Approved

We evaluate Moccamaster coffee brewers across the four T’s of coffee brewing: temperature, time, turbulence, and total dissolved solids (TDS). A brewer that performs within the ideal ranges of the four T’s produces the perfect ratio of coffee flavor compounds extracted into water, which the SCA refers to as “the golden cup.” That ratio creates the flavors we enjoy when we sit back with a good cup of coffee, and every Moccamaster hits that mark every brew cycle.

The Coffee Brewer for Coffee Lovers

Since 1968, Moccamaster coffee brewers have set the global benchmark for at-home coffee brewing. Designed to extract the maximum flavor from your grounds in about 4-6 minutes, coffee from a Moccamaster is comparable to what you would brew using a more complex manual process or drink in a café.

We build our coffee brewers to last, using only the highest quality materials and offering replacement parts. With proper care and maintenance, this should be the last coffee brewer you ever need to buy.

  • Moccamaster coffee brewers are handmade in heart of the Netherlands.
  • Our brewers have a durable metal housing and use a copper boiling element to heat the water, which allows for consistent water temperature control.
  • All plastics are BPA, BPS, BPF, and phthalate-free.
  • We individually test every brewer before it leaves our factory.

I’ve been using this coffee maker for about 2 months now, and I’m convinced this has been the best investment into my mornings in my life.It brews a fantastic cup of coffee very quickly if I’m in a hurry, or mornings a have a little more time, I love that I can bloom the grounds and play with the depth of flavor. The carafe keeps it plenty warm, and the machine itself has been flawless and easy to operate and maintain. You honestly don’t need to go out to a coffee shop for a normal cup of coffee if you have this machine. It’s that good.I’ve had multiple programable machines, most recently 2 Ninja’s (which both brewed decent coffee, but not nearly at this level of flavor extraction). I thought I needed that programmable timer being a lazy morning person. However, I find that waking up 5mins earlier to get this fantastic a cup of coffee is no big deal and well worth it. Yes, I know it would be even better if I ground the beans right before I brew, but this still tastes amazing doing it the slacker way.Anyhow, if you’re on the fence and are comfortable with the price tag, buy it. You won’t regret it. It’ll probably save you money in the long run between longevity of the machine and the quality of the coffee you can have at home.

The Technivorm Moccamaster makes a great cup of coffee. Maybe it’s just me trying to rationalize the price I paid for it but I believe I can really taste a big improvement over the coffee from my old «el cheapo» drip coffee maker. The Moccamaster takes slightly more effort to use because you’re having to deal with multiple detachable parts (water reservoir cover, removable plastic coffee filter holder and separate cover, metal carafe and plastic drip spout as well as the main heating mechanism). After two or three carafes of coffee the preparation sequence becomes second nature and it only takes me a few extra seconds compared to my old drip coffee maker. As other users have pointed out, the metal carafe has an internal edge just under the spout which prevents you from being able to pour all the coffee out leaving a few tablespoons in the bottom of the carafe. Moreover, the opening in the carafe is too small to get your hands in to easily clean it.The preceding nitpicks are minor and I find them easy to live with in exchange for being able to brew a great tasting cup of coffee. I look forward to savoring that first cup of hot morning coffee and my only regret is dithering over a period of several months before making the purchase. If you’re a coffee aficionado, you won’t regret buying a Technivorm Moccamaster.

Been pouring over for years and was looking for a solution that would make a whole pot of coffee fairly quickly. Reviews were great so I went for it.It looks decent enough on the counter but it does have a large number of component parts which are kind of loose fitting and each needs to be washed. The pot provided pours a little oddly as well with no well-defined spout. Hard to clean as the opening is fairly small. The carafe top used for brewing has a long, conical tail that projects into the carafe and that sucker has to be cleaned with the small bristle brush/pipe cleaner-looking thing I clean silicone straws with.Other minor annoyance is that the carafe must be placed hard up against the body of the machine to depress the safety button there. Oh, and the sliding latch on the side of the brew basket is not easy to use. Hard to tell when it is in the middle, partially restricted flow position, which is where I suspect it should be for proper brewing. But the important thing is the coffee. Honestly, I think this is as good or better than my pour over. Only takes 5-6 minutes to brew and I am not baby-sitting it like the pour over process. Stays hot in the pot for quite a while.Check YouTube for some reviews. I saw one where a bunch of scientists tested 16 different coffee makers for everything from brew temperature to suspended solids in the resulting coffee. This was the winner.Really, the coffee is delicious using the same fresh grind I use for pour over. Not cheap, and the cleaning process is an investment. But if a good tasting cup is what you really care about — look no further.

Ok, I have to say first off I love this machine- 12 years now, only cleaned it four times, no problems. But the lies need to stop! 32 ounces is 4 CUPS not 8. 1 CUP= 8oz by Imperial measuring standards. Sometimes a «cup» of coffee is 6oz by restaurant/medical standards, referring to the size of a teacup, so I would give them that even. But their «cup» is only 4 ounces… what gives?

Simple, beautiful product that makes a excellent pot of coffee. Well designed and easy to clean.

For many years I’ve used a basic Mr. Coffee “Blade Grinder” and “Coffee Machine”. The blade grinder has lasted forever. It’s a workhorse. I’ve gone thru several coffee machines. Decided to take the plunge and upgrade and thru research found stellar reviews for the Technivorm Moccamaster. Here is what I learned.1. Note: moved to a “Burr Mill” (Cuisinart DBM-8) so this review is my impression of a Burr Mill/Moccamaster (79212 KBTS)combination.2. The coffee the Moccamaster makes is superior. It’s the right temp and has no bitterness that I got from my old setup. This is the whole reason to pay this premium price.3. The Moccamaster is well built. It is very quiet and brews quickly. I recommend getting a version with a Thermal Carafe; no burnt coffee from a hot plate. Only comes with 3 filters so just buy extra up front. Filters are super easy to install/dispose.4. The height of the machine is a issue. I opted for the 8 cup version because of this. The 10 cup versions gets too close to the bottom of my kitchen cabinets; was worried about steam under cabinet over time.5. Also need to consider the footprint/orientation of this coffee maker. I keep mine next to the sink so I can use my faucet hose to fill water tank. And I oriented it so the carafe is towards me with tank behind.6. The only things that keeps this coffee maker from perfection; There is a button the carafe must depress to run; if you don’t notice this you’ll come back to no brewed coffee. This function is needed but, you must pay attention. There is a plastic platform the carafe sits on; it’s nice but, you must make sure it is properly installed. Not a big deal but, worth noting. Automatically shuts off brewing when water is used but, you must remember to turn off the machine. Again not a big deal but, probably would have been better to just automatically shut off the main power when done brewing; it’s not like it needs to keep a hot plate on. This machine is expensive but, if you love coffee then it might very well be worth it.Summary: Excellent brewed coffee. Easy to use. Built well. Carafe keeps coffee hot for reasonable time-frame. A few basic features keep it from absolute perfection. Cost to purchase will be a barrier for many.

I went full circle on every possible brew technique, I came back to this style for ease of time and HOT coffee… Though my maker did come with a split tank to water heater hose (water everywhere first try), I was able to fix it myself… Which in my opinion, is a huge plus ! How many coffee makers can you actually take apart & fix due its parts and design ? Yes, bummed it was broken, sure, but no return to seller or ship to Technivorm USA for a repair… Once I was up n running, pure coffee bliss! If you get one, get used to the feature on the brew cup for closing off the flow, otherwise ‘cleanup on isle 6’ if you pull the pot away… I also utilize a grinder for fresh ground beans, just a complete eye opening coffee experience….

I recently purchased the Technivorm Moccamaster 79212 KBTS, which changed my life. And so did my standards for a great cup of coffee.I won’t forget the first time I saw the Moccamaster’s brewing process. I watched the coffee grounds bloom as the nine holed brewer smoothly dispersed them with water. Even before I tried the coffee, I was enthralled. And by the time I tasted my first cup, I was captivated. The coffee had a great body, zero bitterness, and even sweetness, and I remember that it tasted more like a pour-over than brewed coffee.Immediately, my benchmark for superior home-brewed coffee leaped out of this world.Since that day, my Moccamaster has met those standards with every cup, every morning…The Technivorm Moccamaster is a very user-friendly home brewer. The only things it can’t do for you are: grind your beans, pour water into its reservoir, and clean itself. If you care about your coffee tastes, the Moccamaster is 100% worth the investment. As for cleaning, the plastic that the Technivorm Moccamaster uses isn’t dishwasher-safe. However, the parts are still super easy to clean. Just wipe the brew basket, rinse your carafe, and let them dry!If you’re on a super tight budget, the Moccamaster might not be for you. The main benefit of getting SCA certification is that it gives home brewer manufacturers an excuse to increase their prices. Good coffee is a viable business option, after all. Because of this, the Moccamaster is more pricey than its peers. But make no mistake: I think it’s well worth the price difference, and it’s worth more than the cost of its raw parts. SCA certification is proof that the Moccamaster is better than most of its competition. And that difference in expertise often exceeds the price difference. One thing you can be sure of when buying an SCA-certified coffee maker is that it’s going to be worth your investment. It has a level of quality, consistency, and durability that few other drip coffee makers have. And to guarantee high-quality coffee every morning for the next couple of years, I’d be willing to pay a little extra! The Technivorm Moccamaster is one of the best coffee makers you’ll find. And while it’s a bit pricier than other drip coffee makers, I think the quality of every cup of coffee speaks for itself.Somehow, the Moccamaster can add a human touch to its coffee, and every brew tastes like a real barista prepared it. If the taste of your morning coffee is essential to you, this drip coffee maker is an excellent investment.

The Technivorm Moccamaster is a marvel. And, believe me, I did enough research beforehand to assure myself that such a description was probably true, just on account of the price. Woo! I have never paid so much for a coffeemaker! I have, however, owned 8 of them in 30 years. That’s just not right. What I knew going in was that none of the 8 coffeemakers I have owned measured up to this one —some because the technology/market demand wasn’t «there» yet and others because they just aren’t as good, even though they had major brand recognition and lots of rave reviews and some even worked pretty well. The most important thing I have learned during all my years of coffeeholism is something I learned doing this research: The water that brews your coffee has to be between 195-205 degrees; otherwise, there’s virtually no possibility that the flavor can be extracted from the ground beans. I guess grinding the coffee beans right before you brew counts for a lot, too, but I was unaware that it made that much difference, so i have no frame of reference in that regard.. The water temperature thing is BIG, though. This machine is ultra-simple in looks, a very sleek, almost retro, look —clean lines, beautiful stainless steel carafe. Some have said that this carafe doesn’t keep coffee hot, but I’m afraid I make what I need and serve it —it only takes 5-8 minutes (!) to make an entire pot, so keeping it hot is not an important issue in my opinion. There has also been criticism that the coffee doesn’t pour easily because of the shape of the carafe’s spout. Okay. If that’s all you can find, then …whatev. ;o]I was so… in awe, sort of, at ordering such an expensive coffeemaker. Okay, so I have money issues — who doesn’t? Besides, you can read and research any item all you want, but you don’t really know, until you have the thing in hand, whether it lives up to the reviews and claims. When we received it, it was almost like opening sunken treasure; and making our first pot was done in respectful silence. (see «money issues» above). :o) We were stunned. WHAT. A. GOOD. CUP. OF. COFFEE. The same coffee we thought must have been ground wrong or mixed wrong or something, it was so bad in our Capresso, turned out PERfectly in the Technivorm.. Hallelujah! There’s still hope for getting great coffee from a home coffeemaker! What’s funny is that, really examining the machine one day, I realized that it is REALLY simple-looking —not just in design but in concept. It looks as if someone was having their 39th bad cup of coffee and they threw up their hands and said, «Oh, HELLZbellz, *I* could make a better coffeemaker!» and then they just did —with the same uninformed but very enthusiastic fervor they made go-karts when they were kids. But, most definitely, this is not to say that it’s not a sophisticated machine. OHhhh, no —they certainly know what they’re doing, and the Moccamaster is obviously worth every penny. It’s a simple and yet sophisticated design and, most importantly, it absolutely works like a dream. Technivorm’s rave reviews are warranted, in my opinion, and I feel very comfortable giving it one myself. I’m sorry that, apparently, there’s not as good a machine made in America; but the Netherlands is not a bad second choice! If you’re determined to finally have a GREAT cup of coffee, EVERY time you make one, and, quite likely, use less coffee in the process, then this is your new machine. We’ve saved a lot of money on coffee already —it wasn’t that the coffee was ground wrong, and we didn’t have to use *more* to get the flavor we wanted; it was just that the brewing water wasn’t hot enough and it took 12+ minutes to brew!Solution? Technivorm Mocca Master. We LOVE this thing, and I bet you will, too.

Super happy with this. Moved from a Cuisinart and I’ll never look back.
