D. Meadows –
I use it mostly for drying grasses and greens for my house rabbit. it’s far better quality that the expensie one I bought here, which broke down really fast.

I have had this since the late 90’s and it is still going strong. I don’t wash the trays in the dishwasher (might be why others have had problems). My trays are fine after all this time. Motor is still great as well. I bought extra racks to do more with it. I use this for jerkey regularly and it works well for all of our summer and fall dehydrating (tomatoes, persimmons, apples, etc.). I just recommended it to a friend last week (2014) so thought I would spread the word.

I have had my MR. Coffee dehydrator for over ten years. I cannot understand why anyone would have trays falling apart. I have used it seven times this week, and have used it much for the past ten years. It is still perfect. I have usually hand washed the trays but do put in the dishwasher sometimes. I love this dehydrator so much that I got one for a friend. I waited a year before I found a used one on craigslist so you see , I really like it. Not one problem. I leave turn it on at night, go to sleep and everything is dried by the morning.

My Mom bought this dehydrator at Walmart for $19.99, for my husband as a gift over 20 yrs. ago. It has worked great. He makes venison jerky in it all the time. I grow celery so I can dry the celery tops, I love havingcelery flakes on hand. This year I am going to dry some parsley & green/red bell peppers.

I have owned this model from MR. Coffee for well over ten years. Only issue is the fan takes alittle longer to get going then before. We have no issues with the grates on this product. My suggestion the those who get this is to spray a very light coat of cooking oil on the crate. I dehydrate alot of bananas and they stuck to the grates but with alittle Pam they just slid off. I’m sure it would work on jerky as well as it did on bananas.(just a thought)

I got mine second hand well over ten years ago. I make jerky and dry fruit. The only time a tray ever broke was when I stepped on one. It’s pretty quiet and does the job.

Bought this dehydrator in the mid 90’s. Have used it about 10x a year since then. It does what it was supposed to do. The only complaint I have is the fan motor takes a about 1 min to get up to full speed now, but heck its probably 15+ years old. Trays are still in good condition, I hand wash them after each use. Love making my own beef jerky that takes about 15-24 hours in this dehydrator.
